Overview

The LEI is a 20-character alphanumeric code defined by ISO 17442, issued by accredited Local Operating Units within the Global LEI System.

Registration Status and Renewal

LEIs must be renewed periodically. Reporting validation and firm onboarding controls commonly check registration status as well as format.
